The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is India's national benchmark for school teaching eligibility, conducted twice each year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under guidelines established by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Qualifying CTET is mandatory for appointment in Central Government schools (Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Central Tibetan Schools) and schools under Union Territories (including Chandigarh, Delhi, and Andaman & Nicobar). It is also accepted by numerous state governments in lieu of their state TET.

2. Lifetime Certificate Validity: In accordance with NCTE Circular No. 76-4/2010/NCTE/Acad dated 09.06.2021, CTET qualifying certificates possess lifetime validity across all appointments. Qualifying once fulfills lifelong eligibility.
